At Twisted Pine Farm the beautiful and talented horses are the main stars,

But our lives are filled with animals of all shapes and sizes

and sharing with you our enjoyment of these animals is our pleasure.

Our dogs are two breeds, the Pyrenean Shepherd and the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen.  They come from Chaparral Kennels who are the only breeders of Pyrenean Shepherds in Canada.  It isn't unusual to have a litter of puppies visiting the farm for everyone to enjoy and play with.   

We can often be found with the dogs out hiking on this extraordinary property and enjoying the magic of Mother Nature at her finest.  With or without the dogs our trails, open fields, forests and streams always reveal something special if you look hard enough.  You may spot a deer in the distance, or startle a wild turkey. 

Or, our little Pyrenean Shepherd dogs are happy to have you come out and join them with our sheep for a few moments of quiet, pastoral contemplation.

Our sheep consist of very friendly Shetland, Katahdin & Babydoll Southdown breeds.

Yes, Miss Piggins started out as a little piglet and is a real character about the place.

She loves her back scratched.

Our chickens are less conspicuous about the barn, but no less special.  They are Arucana, French Maran & Lakenvelder chickens. If you're lucky you may even find an egg for your breakfast,  but finding a clutch of baby chicks running around is much more fun!
